Supporting Local Beekeeping

Our bees are cared for throughout the year in East Devon, where they forage on local hedgerows, wildflowers and seasonal blossom.

Do I own the hive?

No. Your sponsorship helps support the care and management of one of our beehives, but ownership and responsibility for the hive remains with Hollow Oak Stores.

Can I choose the name on the hive plaque?

Yes. Your plaque can include a name, family name, business name, memorial dedication or short message, subject to available space.

Can I sponsor a hive in memory of someone?

Absolutely. Many of our hive sponsorships are purchased in memory of loved ones. We can include memorial wording on the plaque and, if requested, on our website dedication page.

Is this a suitable gift?

Yes. An Adopt a Full Hive sponsorship makes a unique gift for birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, weddings, Christmas or anyone who loves bees, nature and the countryside.

Will I receive updates?

Yes. We will send seasonal updates, photographs and videos throughout the year so you can follow the progress of your hive and the bees.

What honey will I receive?

Your sponsorship includes 30 x 75g jars of our East Devon honey, subject to seasonal availability. If preferred, you may choose an equivalent value in selected Hollow Oak Stores products.

Can I visit the hive?

As this package is designed as a sponsorship rather than an experience, hive visits are not included. However, we may offer separate bee experiences and open days in the future.

What happens if the colony swarms or the queen is replaced?

Beekeeping is a natural and seasonal process. Colonies may swarm, requeen or change throughout the year. Your sponsorship continues regardless, and we'll keep you updated on significant events affecting your hive.

How long does the sponsorship last?

Your hive sponsorship lasts for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Can I renew my sponsorship?

Yes. We'll contact you before your sponsorship expires if you would like to continue supporting your hive for another year.
