We harvest our beeswax directly from our own hives in Devon, ensuring every candle is made with high-quality, sustainable beeswax. By working closely with nature, we help maintain healthy bee populations, which are essential to our ecosystem. When we need additional beeswax, we source it from local beekeepers who share our commitment to sustainable practices.

Beeswax is a renewable, eco-friendly material that is naturally produced by bees. The bees create beeswax by secreting wax from special glands located on their abdomen. These wax flakes are shaped into honeycomb, which the bees use to store honey and raise their young. By using this natural byproduct, we support sustainable beekeeping practices and reduce waste.

As beeswax is a natural product, the color may vary slightly depending on the plants and flowers our bees have visited, making each mushroom candle unique. With every candle, you’re not just getting a beautiful handmade piece—you’re also supporting eco-friendly, local, and sustainable practices.

Candle Safety Information

• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
• Keep candles away from drafts, vents, ceiling fans, and air currents to prevent uneven burning or flare-ups.
• Never touch or move a candle while the wax is liquid or the candle is still hot.
• Always burn candles on or near non-flammable surfaces; keep them clear of flammable materials like curtains, paper, or furniture.
• Use a candleholder specifically designed for candle use. Ensure it’s level, stable, and made of heat-resistant material.
• Keep candles out of reach of children and pets to prevent accidents.
• Keep the wax pool clean and free of wick trimmings, matches, and debris to avoid flaring or uneven burning.
• Trim candlewicks to ¼ inch before each use to promote an even burn and reduce soot.
• Avoid burning a candle for longer than 3–4 hours at a time to prevent overheating and ensure the candle burns evenly.
• Always extinguish candles completely before leaving the room or going to bed. Double-check there are no glowing embers left behind.
• Use a snuffer to extinguish the flame rather than blowing it out to minimize smoke and hot wax splatter.
